What’s your background?
I worked as an Escrow Officer in the title industry for 17 years before this, and before that I was a Series 6 licensed financial advisor for MetLife.
Why did you choose to work with Atlas Real Estate?
Because I’ve known and worked with so many Atlas folks over the years as their escrow closer, I knew the culture would be a good fit. And I was ready to use my brain in a different way while still taking advantage of all the real estate knowledge and expertise I’ve gathered over the last 17 years!
What is the greatest challenge you see in real estate and how do you work towards overcoming it?
Not projecting my own thoughts and feelings about real estate to the people I’m working with. I’m realizing that I need to be more quiet and listen more to what the client is dreaming about. Their dream house or situation will hardly ever be what I would dream about. Must be careful to keep my personal feelings out of what they are saying, No one cares what I think!
What is at the top of your bucket list?
Travel to the Mediterranean: Ibiza, Sardinia, Majorca, Greece, Rome
What is the greatest advice you’ve ever received?
My mother told me, if you make a mistake and you don’t learn from it, then you’ve made two mistakes.
What recreational activities do you enjoy?
Going to live shows (concerts, festivals), biking, hiking, swimming
Where is your favorite place to visit (in Colorado)?
Garden of the Gods. I grew up five minutes from there and we used to skip school and go hang out, lay on the red rocks and soak up the sun. I look back on that now and think, what a great way to grow up. Beats the heck out of going to high school in Topeka, KS! No offense to Kansas, but come on!
